Andrew Pettenon

Director

Andrew has always had a genuine interest in the built form and in particular design. Having worked as a building contractor for over 25 years, it was his father’s introduction to carpentry that ignited his passion for design and construction, ultimately launching his career into the commercial property industry.

Andrew holds a Diploma in Construction Science and is a registered Commercial Building Practitioner. Andrew is a Green Star Associate with the Green Building Council of Australia, and is also a Harvard Business School graduate.

Andrew has worked for various contracting firms including: Bovis Australia, Mirvac, Icon and Crema, where his role and responsibility grew with experience.

Andrew’s interests in design allowed him to form his own role, concentrating on the mechanics of design and the responsibilities associated with it. Building efficiency, building economics, compliance across all regulatory sectors, and ensuring the built form can be delivered safely and within a budget are key attributes of Andrew’s success to date.

Andrew has a sound understanding of commercial building requirements and how maximising design from the initial meeting can be the ‘make or break’ of any development project. Similarly, Andrew has excellent knowledge of the residential development process having delivered a number of light weight residential homes and multi-unit town homes. This passion has made him an advocate for medium density light weight structures, having received guest speaking invitations at various timber framing conferences.

Andrew is a regular speaker and lecturer at Melbourne University, where he enjoys the role of sharing his knowledge with the new breed of building professionals.

James Beck

BECK Quantity Surveying

Cost Planning is undertaken with James Beck. Together, RMB Design | Property and Beck QS offer a unique design and cost service, analyzing all elements of the built form to best to inform your project budgets. With Andrew and James’ strong contracting back ground, “real time costs” are analyzed and represented, ensuring your cost plans reflect current building markets.

James is a Registered Building Practitioner and a long standing member of the Australian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (AIQS).
